"I used to dream of walking freely in the bazaars of Lahore, with my head held high. Now, I only dream of the day I won’t need to feel my way through the darkness."

Chahat, a 28-year-old transgender woman, once radiated hope and courage in a society that barely recognised her humanity. She faced daily challenges, but her dreams of living a dignified life kept her strong. That strength was tested in the cruellest way imaginable.

One evening, a man she trusted as a friend made advances toward her. When she refused, his rejection turned into a rage that shattered her world. He doused her face with acid, forever scarring her body and stealing her eyesight.

"My face, my eyes—he took everything. I’ll never see myself again, never see the sunlight, never see another person’s smile."

Since that night, Chahat’s life has been an unending battle. Blinded and disfigured, she can no longer work, walk unaided, or even perform simple tasks without help. Abandoned by her family as a child, she’s been left to rely solely on the support of her Guru and the transgender community.

The man who destroyed her life walks free, untouched by justice. Chahat, overwhelmed by the pain and betrayal, has handed over her cry for justice to Allah.

"I cannot see, but I feel the kindness in the hands that guide me. I still have hope. I believe there are people in this world who won’t let me fade away."

Despite everything, Chahat’s spirit endures. She dreams of reclaiming her life, of finding a way to live with dignity once again. To do this, she needs our help.
