Kareema has been living in hardship since her husband passed away. With four daughters and a young son to care for, she has been left to shoulder the weight of everything alone. The struggle is constant, and it feels like the burden only grows heavier with each passing day.

Kareema is sick. She has high blood pressure and a tumour in her leg, which doctors say requires surgery. But the problem isn’t just the illness—it’s the fact that she has no money to pay for treatment. The roof of her home is broken. There’s not enough food. And every day, Kareema has to make an impossible choice:

“Should I feed my children or get treatment for myself?” she asks quietly, her voice filled with the weight of a decision no mother should ever have to face.

Her health continues to worsen, but the needs of her children come first. She wonders if there’s anyone who can help them.

“Is there a kind brother who can help? Help us with food,” she pleads.

Her daughter, Shabana, watches as her mother grows more exhausted with each passing day. The hardships have been a part of their lives for the past 15 years. The worry is etched deeply into Shabana’s heart, and she feels it most acutely when she sees her mother in pain.

Shabana’s own dreams feel far out of reach. She, like her sisters, dreams of a better life—of a future that doesn’t feel like it’s slipping away. They want to get married, but without any means to support themselves, those dreams are only that: dreams.

“We are four sisters. We need help with our marriages,” she says softly. “Build a house for us, we will pray for you. Please help us.”
